1. Course objectives

This course is designed to help students:

  • Revise the main ideas of a clear, standard passage or speech on familiar topics in work, study, or leisure.
  • Be able to handle most situations that occur when they arrive where Vietnamese is spoken.
  • Revise to write simple passages related to familiar topics of interest to them.
  • Revise to describe their experiences, events, and desires, and briefly state their reasons, opinions, and plans.
  • Be guided about tips to achieve high scores in the VLPT
  • Analyze common mistakes that students often make in previous exams.
  • Be introduced to the exam structure and the grading scale for each section.
  • Be instructed on how to properly allocate time for each exam.
  • Focus on practicing two skills of Speaking and Writing which are considered the most difficult in the VLPT.
  • Take sample tests and get teachers to comment on the strengths and weaknesses of each student.

  • Number of periods: 40 (2 periods/day; 1 month/course)

  • Students who have completed VSL3 (equivalent to 480 periods)
